The 4th Friday Wine & Cheese enters its fourth consecutive year providing networking events throughout various communities in Philadelphia with a specific focus on education, entrepreneurship and entertainment. Selecting a new gallery each year, the 4th Friday organizers (a collective of business professionals) provide patrons with an experience that includes wine tasting, catered cuisine, art appreciation, business development, shopping and even massage therapy. The fact that it takes place all under one roof makes it an irresistible destination stop for anyone interested in business, art, wine tasting, networking, foreign cuisine, unique gifts or simply a way to unwind at the end of a stressful work week.

Upcoming Exhibition:

Aqui Estamos (Here We Are) currated by F. Lennox Campello - May 1-30, 2009
Although the work of contemporary Cuban artists has been recognized by many important museums and curators around the world, as a result of the decades-long Cuban embargo, it often remains a mystery to most Americans. Curated by F. Lennox Campello, Aquí Estamos brings to Projects Gallery and Philadelphia recent work by several important artists working out of Havana, as well as Cuban artists from the Cuban Diaspora. In this traveling exhibition, Campello presents narratives and imagery ranging from historical dissidence to the stark issues of contemporary Cuban life, offering a glimpse into an island nation with a powerful world presence in the arts and the events of world history.
Featuring works by Cuban artists Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons, Kcho, Cirenaica Moreira, Marta Maria Perez Bravo, Sandra Ramos, Roberto Acosta Wong, and Aimeé Garcia Marrero. Additionally, the show will include Several Cuban artists represented by Projects Gallery:  Alejandro Mendoza, Alex Queral, Angel Ricardo Ricardo Rios, and Ramon Williams. 50 years after the revolution, this traveling exhibition presents some of the best work coming out of Cuba and the Cuban Diaspora today.

"Things that may or may not go on in the night" - May 1-30, 2009
Projects Gallery is excited to announce the second solo show by artist Caleb Weintraub. Showcasing a whole new body of mid-sized oil paintings, these works are the latest in the artist’s ongoing mythology and social commentary. Weintraub presents images of mysterious, barren, tree-littered landscapes with patchy ground cover, revealing an underground of vibrant streaks of color, atop which the children enact secret ceremonies. Featuring the enigmatic motif of owls with paint-chip wings, their presence is the new focus of this chapter of the ongoing story.
